NL63 Weekly Update Dear Neighbourhood Link Member, Here is an update on neighbourhood policing in the NL63 neighbourhood. Crime Prevention Advice As the darker months approach, burglaries are anticipated to be on the rise. There are a few simple steps you can follow to keep your house safe and secure. Keep windows and doors locked at night and whilst you are out.Ensure all outdoor lighting is working. If you are away for long periods of time, consider investing in light switch timers and window alarms. Also consider asking a neighbour to take in your post for you and keep an eye on your property whilst you are away.Don't leave valuables on display. If you have a keyless car, move your keys to a safe place that isn't by the front door, and keep them out of sight. If you are away on holiday, don't post on social media until you return home. Consider investing in CCTV/ring doorbell as a deterrence. Always ensure your house looks occupied, houses in darkness are more likely to be targeted by opportunistic thieves. What have the neighbourhood team been doing? The neighbourhood team have been busy on the beat recently, spending time engaging with residents and businesses. The beat team is also conducting work which is ongoing to secure a partial closure order at an address identified as being linked to drug activity. Intelligence gathering and high visibility patrols will continue to provide reassurance and deterrence. If you see a member of the beat team out and about, please don't hesitate to say hi or come and have a chat! This is just a selection of what the neighbourhood team have been doing, we have also been completing crime investigations, visible patrolling including ‘hot spot’ areas, and engaging with residents and businesses in the area. Upcoming Neighbourhood Consultations 16/12/25- 11:30-12:30- The Arc community hub.08/12/25- 15:30-16:30- St Marys' Church, Nanpantan. More coming in the New Year!
